  • Publishing Computational Mathematics (AMS Notices, Feb 2012)
    • This article describes some of the conceptual differences between “traditional” research (writing papers only) and computational research (focusing on algorithms and their implementations in readable usable computer code).
  • The Demise of the Young Scholars Program (AMS Notices, March 1998)
    • This article describes the lifecycle of an NSF program that for a time funded many important programs giving high-school students a “real-time” experience of what it is to do mathematics research (for themselves).
