Counting “Standard Lines of Code” (SLOC)

without comments

Here is a project that gives a standard for counting for the “lines of code” in a software project written in many popular programming languages, suggested to me by William Stein at Sage Days 36:

This count does not include comments, which are a very valuable part of having a maintainable code base, so it’s certainly not the only measure of how valuable a piece of code is. ┬áBut it does give a rough measure of ┬áthe size of the project!
